Everyday Makeup Routine

Makeup is something that I am so fascinated by but, to be completely honest, know the least tips and tricks to creating a flawless finish. In a way, I favor my makeup more messy and dewy to enhance my natural features rather than hiding them. For the summer time especially, I love to keep my face makeup to a bare minimum and knowing that my face is looking fresh. Here are the products I’ve been loving and some tricks I’ve learned along the way. The best part? This look takes me no more than 10 minutes to do!

Tinted Moisturizer

I’m not entirely sure why it took me 20 years to figure out that tinted moisturizer is my holy grail, but after using it, I rarely ever find myself grabbing for anything else. I purchased this NARS tinted moisturizer about a month ago and am completely obsessed. For you ladies who love a more glossy and fresh finish, this product is for you. It has the perfect coverage and can be used ever so slightly or layered to cover up those unwanted blemishes. It even has SPF it in (which is so important!) so you can skip that step in your daily skincare routine. This product has personally been that extra layer of skin that can boost your confidence on even your worst breakout.

Under Eye Concealer

The Tarte Shape Tap Concealer is another product that has been around for so many years, but classic Evana, it took me 20 years to discover it. If you don’t own this product, go out to your nearest Ulta (not offered at Sephora) and buy it…seriously. I suffer from puffy and dark circles, so buying a few shades lighter than my tinted moisturizer was my solution to the problem. It’s literally like putting a bandaid over your dark circles. For you working women, super moms, and college students like myself, this product will become your best friend. No worries, you’ll thank me later.

Blemish Concealer

In all honesty, I’m a little obsessed with NARS products because they have yet to let me down. I’ve had this concealer for quite some time now, and its a staple for your makeup collection. It’s perfect to quickly swipe onto any pimples or even under your eye. It’s more of a natural option as opposed to the Tarte concealer, which is perfect for every day use. I like to use this strictly for blemishes since the Tarte does a better job covering up my dark circles, but test them both out and see what works best for you. Both are such iconic concealers.

Translucent Powder

This was my first “higher-end” makeup purchase I made about a year ago, and it has lasted me ever since. I like to dab my damp beauty blender into the powder and pack it into my under eyes to ensure a flawless finish, then grab a big, fluffy brush to lightly swipe the powder around my face. It takes away the extra unwanted shine and keeps my makeup in place all day.

Bronzer

If I had to choose my favorite makeup product, it would most definitely be bronzer. Finding the right bronzer can be difficult, but this one by Physician’s Formal is inexpensive and such a quality product…plus is smells sooo good! I like to swipe this from my forehead, to under my cheek bones, to my jawline, in a 3-like motion. A pro tip is to take your bronzer on a small eyeshadow brush, or even your ring finer, and darken your eyelid crease with it. It saves you time and money by avoiding an eyeshadow pallet.

Powder Blush

Ever since I started to wear makeup, I used the MAC blushes. I like to thank my mom for this one, because even now at 20 years old, I strictly buy these blushes. They have a vast range of colors and tones for all skin types and apply perfectly with any brush. Remember to save the containers, because you can return 6 empty ones to any MAC store for a free MAC lipstick. Whenever a company considers sustainability, I’m all for it, and is another reason why I will continue to buy these blushes. Another pro tip is to apply your blush across your eyelid to give your eye some dimension.

Highlighter

If something is going to make me look like a glowing goddess, by all means give it to me! This highlighter is so inexpensive compared to other products on the market and it totally does the job. Maybelline did an amazing job giving this product the right pigmentation and easy application. Swipe the highlight on the highest points of your face: above your cheek bones, on the tip of your nose, on your cupid’s bow, and under your eyebrows.

Liquid Eyeshadow

Liquid eyeshadow is the go-to for the girl-on-the-go. It’s quick and easy to apply, making it using friendly for everyone. I like to use my ring finger and lightly dab some glittery shadow across my lid to make my eyes pop. While you can’t go wrong with these Stila liquid eyeshadows, I’ve discovered a new found love for Glossier’s as well. With whatever brand you choose, these are a staple for a quick makeup look, or even for a night out.

Mascara

You could go without all this makeup listed and only wear mascara and I am convinced it makes you look 10x better. This is a product that will never do you wrong, and you can easily pick up at the drugstore. I love trying the Maybelline and Covergirl mascaras because they are such a classic—I’ve yet to find one I don’t like.

Lip Tint

Although the lip trend is all beauty gurus rave about these days, I just can’t find myself to get into it. I tried applying a lipliner and matte lipstick duo just to see what it was all about, and I personally felt like it did me more harm than good. It’s important to know your face. If you love the way you look in something, wear it! If you hate it, don’t! For me, I love sticking to a fun lip gloss or, like pictured above, just a simple tinted lip balm. Whatever makes you happy and feel confident, by all means wear it.

I know some of these products are a bit on the pricey side, so I’ve listed products I love and always keep in my bag below. These are just the products that I think are worth the little extra money and felt the need to share. Please comment below on any recommendations you have for me!
